Urban Company launches free video consultations for appliance repairs

Urban Company, Asia’s largest marketplace for technology-enabled home services, has introduced free consumer video advice for all of its appliance repair services. This initiative will allow the consumer to understand the exact problem with an accurate diagnosis and cost estimate resulting in an instant solution, all via a video call.

Urban Company’s industry’s first initiative aims to transform the way the equipment repair industry works. Free video consultations are offered to all customers across India from seasoned professionals with over 15 years of experience in the equipment repair industry.

“One of the biggest problems consumers face when a device fails is confusion and anxiety throughout the repair process, especially when it exceeds both time and cost compared to their estimates,” said Abhinav Tyagi, senior vice president – Marketing, Urban Enterprise. “We introduced a free and instant video repair advisory service so that our seasoned experts with (over) 15 years of experience can help our consumers with accurate diagnoses and correct estimates without investing a lot of time or money. We believe this advice will help our consumers make informed choices at all times. “

Since knowledge is power, the focus is on putting consumers back in control of the entire repair process. Sometimes a problem can be resolved by consumers themselves with the guidance of an expert. For example, if your refrigerator is leaking, it can be so simple that the drain cover becomes clogged. If the problem is more serious, the expert will diagnose the problem immediately and recommend a technician visit.

Urban Company was founded in November 2014 and offers services such as home beauty and spa, cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, equipment repair and painting through its mobile app and website. It operates in 37 cities in India, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It has a partner network of over 35,000 hand-picked service experts backed by training, technology, financial services, tools, product sourcing, and a host of other ecosystem enablers.
