Lisa Radmore-Hart of JL Hart Roofing Corp recently donated $500 to the Leduc and District Food Bank Association, the results of a new donation tradition. With a passion for helping others, Radmore-Hart, from Thorsby, set a time frame in which she would donate $100 per house in Leduc County that she completed.

Though she had hoped to have up to 10 roofs done, Hart said there is always room for more next year and she plans to do this again.

“Giving back is the kindness gesture possible,” Radmore-Hart said.

“Who doesn’t like helping others? I sure love to even if it’s by volunteering, donating funds or just helping in general. The Leduc and District Food Bank have been close to my heart for many years, I’ve known Gert Reynar for over 10 years. She’s been a huge inspiration to me through out the years.”

Brad Rutherford, MLA for Leduc-Beaumont, got word of Radmore-Hart’s generosity and sent her a letter commending her for her good works.

“To hear that you are donating funds this spring from each roof sold to the Leduc & District Food Bank is truly (commendable). This organization continues to support our community’s most vulnerable, and I want to thank you for giving back to help with their efforts,” Rutherford said in the letter. “I understand that this is just one of the many initiatives you have been inspired to champion, in addition to others such as helping low-income families afford new roofs.”

JL Hart Roofing Corp recently donated another $1,000 to the Food Bank to go toward the building of a new community kitchen.
