Council flat mum forced to tip buckets of sewage out window after horror plumbing problem | UK | News

Sigita Jur used a bucket to scoop dirty water from the bathroom and sink of her home in Leeds. Ms. Jur, who lives in the town’s Wortley Towers, faced the plumbing problem around 5 a.m. on Wednesday when water and sewage began to flow from the toilets and sink of two apartments on the block.

“She didn’t even get a chance to clean up and get rid of it, so she used the window.”

“I’m not kidding, she is on the eighth floor and had to dump the sewage through a window.”

According to Leeds Live, Ms. Jur and her neighbor briefed Leeds City Council on their plumbing problem.

However, the regional newspaper also reports that the couple spent much of Wednesday and Thursday failing to convince the council that the problem was urgent.

“I’m sorry, but it could have been done before without screaming and without causing these problems and without harming our health.”

The Leeds Council has since apologized for the delay in fixing the plumbing problem in the apartment.

“Residents of Wortley Towers reported a blockade to the city council, and we were able to clear it on Thursday afternoon, October 28th. This was followed by clean-up work to ensure that any damage and disruption caused by the incident was resolved,” said a spokesman .

“We very much regret all of the residents affected and have spoken to those directly affected personally to apologize and to ensure that the disruption in their homes has been satisfactorily resolved.

“Unfortunately, there were some delays in resolving the blockade. We’re reviewing the incident to make sure we understand what we’ve learned.”
