City Plumbing’s Parv Sangera on Women to Watch list

Parv Sangera, Managing Director of The Bathroom Showroom at City Plumbing, has been named one of the 100 Women to Watch for 2021 by the Cranfield School of Management.

The Women to Watch List, published along with the annual analysis of the progress made by women boards of directors on the FTSE350 corporate boards, is designed to shed light on the talent pool of women and provide a snapshot of some of those who are considered to be potential future board members.

Sangera began her career as a financial analyst with Ford Motor Company and then moved to Sony. She then became a Senior Consultant on Strategy and Transformation at IBM Global Business Services before joining Travis Perkins in 2016 where she led business transformation, launched new products, adopted governance protocols and led multiple teams.

In her current position at City Plumbing, she is responsible for the growth and development of The Bathroom Showroom, overseeing and securing product availability, sales and excellent customer service, and ensuring that the business objectives “are focused on bringing customers into the To be the focus of every transaction ”. “.

Commenting on her listing, Sangera said, “I am very proud to be listed on the Cranfield School of Management 100 Women to Watch 2021 list. To be named alongside 99 other amazing and accomplished women is extremely humbling. Nobody starts or completes their journey alone and I have been fortunate to have some inspiring mentors, role models and supporters throughout my career. I look forward to doing the same for our emerging talent. “

Hilary Sears, author of the report and visiting scholar at the Cranfield School of Management, added: “Diversity in all its forms is rightly becoming increasingly on the agenda for forward-thinking companies. It has been shown that more diverse board members not only offer adequate representation for an increasingly diverse workforce, but also make better decisions. “

Cranfield University’s female FTSE board report found that approximately 21% of FTSE 100 companies have yet to meet the Hampton Alexander goal of 33% women on boards by 2020.

City Plumbing is now part of the Highbourne Group, which is owned by HIG Capital. Travis Perkins Group completed the sale of its plumbing and heating business, including City Plumbing, to HIG Capital in September.
