The Panola County Chamber of Commerce ambassadors hosted a new member ribbon cutting for one of the area’s newest businesses on Wednesday for Timber Tree Service and owners Jeff and Amie Jo Powers.
Jeff Powers said he is a certified arborist who is ready to get to work helping Carthage and Panola County area residents and landowners take care of their tree trimming and tree removal needs.
He said he moved to Panola County about six months ago from Colorado and said he is glad to be located here. Powers said the relocation came after a multiple state search for a positive business and political environment.
“We’re enjoying it here,” Powers said. “It’s really beautiful here.”
With the Powers couple came two children who are really into athletics. They are enrolled in Carthage ISD which is providing a positive environment for their children’s athletic abilities.
“It’s a long story, but we looked all over,” Powers said. “We looked in Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. We were really were searching.”
While Timber Tree Service is located in Carthage, Powers said they provide services throughout Panola County and in surrounding areas like Henderson and Marshall.
Helping Powers with the ceremonial ribbon cutting duties was Neil Bishop, who works for Timber Tree Service. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Jan. 25 outside the chamber offices at 300 W. Panola Street with one of Timber Tree Service’s trucks and equipment as a backdrop.
