My name is Herb Wilson and I live at Red Bluff. I purchased an LG brand, 30 cu ft French Door Refrigerator in November of 2020. On April 14, 2022, my refrigerator quit working.
Upon purchase, I did not get the extended warranty, but I do have a five year manufacturer warranty that would cover the problem with the refrigerator. I made numerous phone calls, emails, replied to their texts many times, and sent the required documents with no luck from LG Customer Service.
Recently, I was told by a service technician of a local repair company that there is no service company anywhere around that honors the LG manufacturer warranty, because LG won’t communicate with them. Some of the service companies said it was close to impossible to reach an LG representative, and if they did, it took forever to get approval to work on the products. If they did get an approval, the repair company was not paid in a timely manner. So needless to say, service companies have stopped working on LG refrigerators with the five year manufacturer warranty.
I am 91 years old and have been using a dorm style refrigerator now for over a month. As of May 12, I was promised that someone from LG would call me after reviewing this case, and that a replacement or refund would be the next step. As of May 16, I have not heard back from them.
My point is, before you make a big item purchase — mine was over $3,000 — please be sure that if it you need to use the manufacturer warranty, that a local and authorized repair company is available to do the warranty covered repairs.
