1-800 Water Damage helps homeowners, businesses get back to normal after a disaster | News

Milledgeville native Jordan Demmon is co-owner of 1-800 Water Damage of Central Georgia, and he works alongside his wife, Anna, his mother, and his team. At just 18 years old, Demmon began a career in the property restoration business at Merritt Carpet Cleaning and Restoration. He said that he quickly received training to become a certified water damage technician, positioning to become a lead technician in water damage.

“After my first successful job, I quickly became hooked and knew this is something that I am passionate about,” Demmon said. “Being able to help homeowners and businesses get back to normal after a disaster is stressful but also very rewarding in the end.”

The business was originally known as Superior Carpet Cleaning & Restoration when it opened in January 2015. It did not officially become 1-800 Water Damage of Central Georgia until November 2019, expanding the team and the services they provide.

He opened 1-800 Water Damage in his hometown of Milledgeville partly because Demmon said he takes immense pride in the chance to serve his local community and the surrounding areas.

1-800 Water Damage of Central Georgia is a full-service restoration provider that offers services including carpet cleaning and full mitigation and reconstruction for both residential and commercial properties. The team is certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) and can handle water damage, mold, fire damage, and even biohazard cleanup.

The team has helped several diverse types of customers since opening, from small residential jobs to large properties including schools and government offices. No matter what the job may be, one thing never changes.

“The one thing that never changes is our commitment to restoring the homeowner or business owner’s peace of mind,” Demmon said.

That commitment is a testament to the culture that 1-800 Water Damage has been able to build.

“Every member of our team is like family to me. We have a mutual respect for one another, and we work as a cohesive unit with the same values and goals in mind,” Demmon said. “Because of this culture, we have been fortunate enough to have a very low turnover rate.”

He said some members of the team have been with the business since the beginning and their contributions are immeasurable. Demmon also called it a privilege to work alongside such dedicated and determined individuals.

“Every single day looks different for me. No two jobs are the same. To work in this industry, you have to be extremely adaptable and ready to change directions at any given second,” he said. “It definitely keeps it interesting. We’re never bored.”

Demmon said that home disaster can be a scary process, but he loves helping people, and the ability he has to do that for those going through a home disaster issue is what keeps him going every day.

“I want to be someone that makes that process a little less overwhelming. I want my customers to know I have their back,” he stated, “There is no greater feeling than being able to get our customers back in their homes and helping return their sense of normalcy after a disaster.”
